    • Course Objectives • To deliver the sensory benefits of art making, and explores how the senses can be stimulated through the usage of various types of art materials and approaches.
      • Sensory Art aims to engage Community Care clients (e.g., Nursing Home Category 3 RAF) at different levels through their sensory system with the exposure of textures, sounds, hand movements and visual stimulation. The art making process also encompasses the aim of maximising clients’ social interaction and enjoyment.

    • Course Fees For Healthcare VWOs and Private Nursing Homes with Portable Subsidies under MOH:
      Singaporeans and Singapore PRs: $73.80 per person Foreigners: $405.90 per person Any other organisations (full fees): $738 per person
      A minimum sign-up of 2 staff per facility is required. GST is not applicable.

  • Stroke Rehab: Upper limb stroke rehablitation (Part 2)

      Review the current evidence-based practice in stroke upper limb rehabilitation and generate discussion on application
      List causes of hemiplegic shoulder subluxation and its implication on activity participation
      Demonstrate hemiplegic shoulder subluxation management and treatment strategies
      Review anatomy of fine motor hand muscles and kinesiology of fine motor function

  • Stroke Rehab: Gait Training - Part 2

      • Understand and apply International Classification of Function (ICF) framework for gait and balance retraining
      • Setting rehabilitation goals based on ICF model
      • Learn about electromyography (EMS) and functional electrical stimulation (FES) as assessment and/or treatment modalities
      • Learn strategies to challenge trunk and lower limb stability in stance
      • Understand the usage of gait training devices/aids and orthosis
      • Know more about innovation in gait and balance training
      • Gain practical skills:
      • Gait retraining in the community
      • Robotics rehabilitation principles in stroke and spinal cord rehabilitation
